The Guild Alive with Culture - 2008
First, a bit of history. For years, Scarborough residents enjoyed an arts festival on the grounds of the Guild Inn in the middle of August called "Arts Naturally". Then in 2006, amidst much controversy, the long-running festival was replaced by something called "Voices of the Guild: A Storytelling Festival". This did not go over well with people, and so the next year, a combined arts and story-telling festival began.
The "The Guild Alive with Culture" festival combines the best of both former festivals. Local artists show off their wares and two stages showcase musical and storytelling talent, all amidst the sculptures, architectural relics and gardens present on the Guild Inn site. This is a great way to spend a Sunday afternoon. The 2008 event was blessed with great weather.
