Moose Factory
During the summer months, people travel the short distance between Moosonee and Moose Factory by boat, typically, motorized canoe. During the winter, people drive across the frozen river. But for six weeks in the fall, and six weeks in the spring, the only way to travel between the two towns is by helicopter. This mode of transport is necessary since Moose Factory has the hospital and Moosonee has the high school. 
Many of the residents of Moose Factory have teepees beside their homes, where they still cook over open fires.
