Balaclava
What happens to old mills when they are no longer needed? Many simply fall apart due to neglect, much to the enjoyment of photographers and other tourists. I was told by a passing motorist that the machinery from this mill at the eastern end of Constant Lake was removed and can now be seen in a museum in Ottawa.
The village of Balaclava can be found a few kilometers north-east of the intersection of Highway 41 and Highway 132. On some maps, it is marked as "Ghost Town". However, there are still homes in use. Because much of the land is private property, photography is possible only from the road.
