Charles Sauriol Conservation Reserve (North)
Park at the Moccasin Trail Park in Don Mills. Walk through the long and dark tunnel under the Don Valley Parkway, and then take the trail to the left. This gets you to the DVP "rainbow", a popular sight for motorists driving north on the DVP. Years ago, someone painted a rainbow on the southern portal of the tunnel under the CN rail line. When the "graffiti" was painted over by the city, the rainbow soon reappeared. The city eventually relented, and allowed the rainbow to stay.
One of the great things about the city of Toronto is the amount of parkland and wilderness. Although the Don Valley is criss-crossed with many major roads and rail lines, much of the valley is dedicated to nature. The trails through the Charles Sauriol Conservation Reserve provide a much appreciated escape from the bustle of city life. And I'll bet many of the thousands of people who live nearby don't realize what they have right under their noses!
