Leaside
Leaside is the northern section of the former Borough of East York. It's a quiet and popular community of single family homes, with most streets are shaded by mature trees. Unlike in the older residential neighborhood east of Bayview, houses here typically have basements.
When we were shopping for a new home in the mid 1990's, this was the first neighborhood we looked at. At the time, it was convenient for both of us, close to my job in Don Mills, and with a short bus ride to the subway. We found nice homes, but pricey considering their size. We continued our house hunting elsewhere.
Oh yeah, one more thing about Leaside: This neighborhood is where Conservative party leader Stephen Harper lived when he was a young boy.
