Spirit of Sir John A.![]() Kingston, Ontario, Canada The "Spirit of Sir John A." has been a feature of the Kingston waterfront since the late 60's. Unfortunately, like other old locomotives put out on display in urban parks, this has seen its share of abuse. Check out the Engine 1095 Restoration Project. The redevelopment of this park was a centennial project. Originally a park in the late 1800's, it was quickly redeveloped into a railroad station, the southern terminus of the Kingston and Pembroke railroad. By the 1960's, however, industry along Kingston's waterfront was well into decline and plans were made to revitalize it. Other pictures like this one can be found at Canadian Trains. |
