Salzburg, Getreidegasse August 1994, Salzburg, Austria The Getreidegasse is the main shopping street in the old part of Salzburg. The building at 9 Getreidegasse was the birthplace of Wolfgang Amadeus Mozart (1756-1791), and where he composed much of his early music. Mozart is a hard figure to avoid when visiting Austria.
