Kaiser Wilhelm Gedächtniskirche May 1997, Berlin, Germany The Kaiser Wilhelm Memorial Church has become a poignant symbol of the city of Berlin. Originally built between 1891 and 1895 as a memorial to Kaiser Wilhelm I, the church was largely destroyed during World War II.
