A pleasant diversion while visiting Hamburg is to take a cruise on the Alster. There are actually two lakes, the Außenalster and the Binnenalster, separated by two road bridges, the Lombardsbrücke and the Kennedybrücke, and one railroad bridge.
In the distance is the Fernsehturm, which offers a nice view of the city, as well as the park immediately below.
