Münster is the historical capital of Westphalia, in the north-west part of Germany, bordering on the Netherlands. Like the Netherlands, the landscape is relatively flat intersected by canals.
Surrounding Münster, you can find several Wasserburgen ("water castles"). Most of these castles are surrounded by water. A couple of these are Burg Vischering, Schloß Nordkirchen, and Schloß Lembeck.
