Heidelberg August 1986, Heidelberg, Germany Heidelberg, situated on the Neckar, is one of the more popular destinations in Germany for tourists and students. The town is home to one of Germany's oldest and most well known universities, established in 1386. The castle offers a fine view of the old town, the Neckar and its old stone bridge, and a couple of churches. The large church in the center of the town is the Heiliggeistkirche.
