Downy Woodpecker January 24, 2008, West Rouge, Toronto, Canada I was walking along Rouge Hills Drive when I heard a tapping from above. I saw a female downy woodpecker pounding away at the bark on the tree. After taking a few pictures, I heard another tapping sound from her male companion.
