Built in 1926 in the Montreal Locomotive Works, this Pacific type locomotive was to first to feature a nickel-steel high pressure boiler. It was also one of the first to be equipped with a stoker.

Behind it is CP 4563, a second generation diesel also built by the Montreal Locomotive Works, but 63 years later.
