Jack in the Pulpit![]() Guildwood Park. June 1, 2002. The Jack-in-the-pulpit (Arisaema triphyllum) is one of the more unusual flowers in the Ontario woods. Before this particular walk in Guildwood Park, I never really noticed the flower before. I had always falsely identified the three-leaved plant as poison ivy, which is of course best avoided. But this time, while focusing on another wild-flower nearby, I happened to spot the distinctive flower underneath the three leaves. I then was able to recognize more of the flowers elsewhere in the park. Other wildflowers can be found at Trilliums. |
