Wolfe Islander in Winter
February 1976, Kingston, Canada.
There are no bridges connecting Wolfe Island with the mainland.
And so, passengers and motor vehicles cross the St. Lawrence River by ferry.
This is an older ferry, that needed some help navigating through the ice.
Since this photo was taken, a newer and bigger ferry was brought into service
taking on passengers and cars at a new dock further east along the waterfront.
For tourists, taking the trip to Marysville on the island is a pleasant
diversion.
