While Trilliums in Guildwood
Toronto, Canada. May 4, 2002.
In the park to the east of the Guild Inn, underneath a dead tree, I
encountered some trilliums with some wood chips on their leaves, and took a
picture.
Later, when I doubled back along the trail, I stopped again at the tree.
I heard a rustling above me, and when I looked up, I saw a pileated
woodpecker peeking out from a hole in the tree no more than two meters
above me!
Right away, it flew off to a neighboring tree.
