San Francisco Bay Over Oakland CA, USA. April 1987. For most trips by air, direct flights are few and far between. To get to Reno, I had to change planes in Dallas. The Dallas to Reno leg flew over the Grand Canyon, but I didn't see anything since it was already dark outside. For the return flight, I first rode an uncomfortable and cramped commuter jet to San Francisco to catch my connecting flight home. Fortunately, company travel policy at the time allowed me to fly home on business class.
