WOW...your photos are amazing and I really enjoyed all the work that you have done for this site.....I have lived most of my life in Kingston and the only down side of Kingston is the fact that we get too much cold and snow (for me). Aside from that it is a beautiful City to live in and raise a family in.

Hi ,

This is first time to this site, found it while searching the internet.I was a student at Frontenac Secondary High School in Grade/Form 9,for the 1965-1966 school year. Then when the decision was made to build La Salle Secondary School in 1966,was transferred along with several other students from grades/forms 9 to 11,for the 1966-1967 school year of which I was in " Grade/Form 10-I". The Limestone District School Board of that time period went to a shift system for Frontenac Secondary High School and La Salle Secondary School, for a two year period (1966-1968)during the construction of La Salle Secondary School. The students and teaching staff of Frontenac Secondary High School attended classes from 7 A.M. to 1 P.M. and La Salle Secodary School students and attended classes from 1P.M. to 7 the evening for the two years.

As a former resident of Kingston I enjoyed your photographs. I especially enjoyed the section on the K&P and also Collins Creek. I used to spend a lot of time in the area of Jackson Mills (Bur Creek) and walked the tracks from Sydenham road to Jackson Mills.

Hans, I just reconnected with my old FSS buddy, neighbour and best-man at my wedding (Don M.) after 20 years. Other than grey hair, it was as if no time had passed at all for us. And then coincidently, the next day I came upon these photos. Wow! Thanks.

I seemed to remember the cheerleader outfits as being more flattering.

But Niagara Falls is pretty good and it is not trashiest.

It's a small convinient tourist attraction you ignorant idiot.

Maybe you should think before dissing other peoples towns.

OH and by the way, no we're not poor, Ontario is very rich and Niagara Falls is rich as well, we have 2 casinos, ones a brand new billion dollar casino, what does your town have bud? Nothing? Get a life you jerkoff.

To whom it may concern,

I am Vince M. Kovacs, the new Chief Elder of The Hungarian Reformed Church in Poughkeepsie, N.Y. of America. Our Pastor is Rev. A. Forro and his phone number is 845-454-5735. Our congregation has very few people left and I feel that this church needs a fresh move of God's intervention to help keep the voice of the Hungarian Church alive by bringing new people to our church to keep it running for the future generations to come.

I really enjoyed your pictures of Kingston, it really made me remeber what it was like to grow up there. Although I'm not very old (relatively speaking:)), I have been away at university for 5 years and my life in Kingston seemed like it was a world away. Thanks for reminding me why I'm proud to say that I'm from Kingston.

Your pics of Kingston, know them well I was born there in 1940 and moved to Toronto in 1957. went to public school in Glenburnie and high school at KCVI. Have been back many times over the years, some relatives still live there.Kingston has changed alot over the years, but most of the downtown area is pretty well the same, just different names. The train station used to be on Montreal street.

I drove by it last summer and it was still there but all boarded up,looks like they are going to move it. Any one remember the circle at the top end of Princess st! that has long gone. When I left there the 401 hwy was just being built, thanks, brings back memories.

I visited the 'castle' on July 30 2004 and can tell you it is a shame that it was never finished. I work in construction and I bet the workers were some upset that all their hard labour was seemingly wasted. The renovations are going forward in the castle proper but the grounds are beautiful, gardens and pathways make the exterior of the buildings appear complete. Maybe I'll visit again in a few years to check on the progress....Interesting the second version of why work stopped, I never heard that on the tour.

Thank you for the insights into the 'castle'

Great sight! I really enjoyed your Toronto one too.

One comment: On your Queen's University page, you mislabelled Theological Hall as Convocation Hall. The name of the "old library" is Douglas Library.

I stumbled accross your site looking for information on Clifto Hill in Niagra Falls. When I noticed you had visited Kingston, I just had to take a peek.

Having been born here, and raised here all my life, I'm glad to have seen that some of our temporary residents really do enjoy themselves while they're here.

I hope you enjoyed your stay and are planning a return visit. Most usually do.
