View of the Bonnechere River.
Eganville, the “Jewel of the Bonnechere”, is a small farming town on the western side of the Ottawa Valley, situated at the intersection of Highway 41 and Highway 60. Further west, the land begins to get hillier, and less amenable to farming. But for the cottagers living to the west, the stores and services in Eganville are indispensible.

The best restaurant in this area is the Granary. Since many of the people in the Ottawa Valley are of German ancestry, you can find some good German food at this restaurant.
