Bayview
Looking north at Bayview and Millwood.
This is where I first lived when I moved to Toronto in the early 1980's. I rented a one-bedroom basement apartment in a high-rise building. It was comfortable, but noisy, and I moved out after just three months. But I always liked coming back to this neighborhood.
Stores and restaurants on Bayview.
Like the parallel Mount Pleasant Road to the west, Bayview Avenue between Eglinton Avenue and Davisville is home to a number of eclectic stores, trendy restaurants, and bars.
Garden Court Apartments.
The Garden Court Apartments, at Bayview and Davisville, are a real architectural gem. The complex is one of the few surviving Art Deco designs in the city. The aging buildings are now seeing some new renovations, with new windows currently being installed.
