Front & Bathurst
Looking north along Bathurst Street towards Front Street.
A good spot for trainspotting is from the old steel girder bridge on Bathurst Street at Front Street. To the west, tracks split to the north-west towards Georgetown, Barrie, and Milton; and to the south-west towards Oakville and Hamilton.
View of the CN Tower and downtown
through the Bathurst Street Bridge.
To the east, you get a great view of the tall buildings of the Financial District downtown, the GO North Bathurst Yard, the CN Tower, and new residential towers rising up over the former railway lands.
Old Fort York, seen from the Bathurst Street Bridge.
The 675 tonne, 60m long steel frame bridge was built in 1903 over the Humber River at Lake Shore Road, but was moved here in 1916. On March 31, 1931, the south end of the bridge was swung 26 degrees to connect Bathurst Street with a new structure that connected with Lake Shore Boulevard. The move took 15 minutes.
