Yonge & St Clair

Another concentration of high-rise office towers surrounding the intersection of Yonge Street and St Clair Avenue. Such high-rise development often occurs close to subway stations.

A long-time landmark of Yonge Street is the 1050 CHUM building. CHUM is famous for being the first "Top 40" radio station in Canada. They continued to play the "Oldies" up until the late 1990's, which many of us greatly enjoyed. Unfortately, the station moved to an all sports format. Although the building has been heavily renovated, the old sign remains.
Update August 30, 2002: Great news! 1050 CHUM has ended its experiment with an all-sports format, and has returned to playing the oldies!
